And we're off...
Hey everyone,

The Racetrack summer tour is almost here! We'll be on the road from July 30 through August 24. So far we have 20 shows booked in 10 states!  Before we take off we'll be playing at The Factory on July 26 with A Symmetry and Can I Be She-ra? That should be a great show. We're also playing live on the KUGS Cornerpocket on the 29th. You can check the show dates here.

Racetrack bassist (tall) Chris has a record coming out on West of January Records called "Smoke and Paper Moons." Chris plays under the name "Garden Variety Tsar." The record was recorded with his backing band "The Partitions." We should have copies of this, and the new West of January Records sampler on the road.

We hope to see you all soon and formally invite you to join us at the KUGS studio on July 29th. Feel free to drop by around 8pm!

Bye!

Phew!  Racetrack played three super-fun shows in March, including an awesome sold-out show with one with the amazing Reputation from Chicago at the 20th Century Bowl in Bellingham. There are some polaroids up in the "photobooth" section, documenting our good times with The Reputation.

We just got done playing with a bunch of great bands this past weekend at the Viking Union benefit show and at The Factory. We're going to focus on writing and booking our summer tour for the next little while. Things are great. Chris has a record coming out on West of January Records called "Smoke and Paper Moons." Chris plays under the name "Garden Variety Tsar." The record was recorded with his backing band "The Partitions." GVT and The Ps are fabulous!

Super-exciting news!

On March 25th, Initial Records band The Reputation (Chicago) featuring Elizabeth Elmore from Sarge will be heading north for an all-ages show with us, The Pale and August Anchor at 20th Century Bowl...

Aaron (WOJ), Meghan, Chris and I have been working hard on this show for almost a month now...  and we're totally excited that it's actually going to happen. I have been geeked out on the Sarge and The Reputation albums for a good 6 months...  The Pale is co-headlining this show. They have a great new record out and are super nice guys. (They, too, love baby blue). August Anchor is Peter from Kilmer's new project!

The "Distance EP" is on the way!   We finished recording and mixing here at the Humboldt House (aka Studio Hear Me Shimmer) and then our good friend Jon did a beautiful job mastering and sequencing it. We're so excited about this release. Right now, we're just waiting for the duplication and artwork to be finished. We've had so much support and help along the way -- thank you so much.

For the uninitiated Racetrack fan, RT is Jackson and Meghan. We've be assisted both on stage and in recording by Matthew Parker and Cristina Bautista. We call Bellingham, WA our home base, although Meghan goes to school in St. Paul, MN eight months out of the year. Watch for more on Racetrack as the "Distance EP" gets finished up in early October.
